BOOKKEEPER/MEMBERSHIP DATA PROCESSOR
Responsible To: AEA Operations Manager
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Must have accounting and/or bookkeeping experience
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work well with difficult people
• Excellent problem-solving skills
General Responsibilities:
• Responsible for facilitating payment of expense vouchers
• Works on all insurance issues as needed
• Maintains accurate records for AEA’s Retired Membership
Specific Responsibilities:
- Reconciles and processes expense vouchers for Field Staff. Processes checks for personal mileage.
- Sends expense reimbursement to Accountant for payment.
- Performs accounting functions for the AEA Foundation. This includes issuing checks and processing donations.
- Assists members with various requests, including answering member calls, entering membership data into NEA360, and canceling membership when members enroll as a retired member.
- Assists the Accountant in the preparation of monthly and quarterly payroll and sales tax returns, year-end W-2s, 1099s, etc., as needed in compliance with federal and state laws.
- Maintains Retired Membership information to ensure accurate retired member rosters.
- Assists staff with credit card issues as an interface with the bank.
- Serves as point of contact for insurance transactions and issues.
- Maintains car tags and associated receipts for association owned vehicles.
- Works with committees and commissions, and other bodies as directed.
- Provides relief for receptionist when assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Business Manager or Executive Director.
Salary:
Starting salary as per negotiated contract
