Professional Learning
This conference provides all AEA members with a fun way to learn and collaborate in engaging leadership settings. MLT sessions to be presented at this year’s conference include Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Diversity, STEAM, Robotics, Accomplished Teaching and Equity, Creating Change through Social Justice, and more! Members will receive clock hours toward Continuing Education Units (CEU) and also have opportunities to begin Professional Learning Unit (PLU) studies at the conference.
Hotel
An individual hotel reservation can only be made and confirmed AFTER confirmation of individual conference registration. The AEA Group Rate Code of $159, is available until the end of September. After September, standard room rates will apply based on availability only. A credit card and first night’s room and tax will be required to guarantee the reservation.
Registration
The MLT Conference registration fees for AEA members are:
$40 until September 16, 2024
$50 until October 15, 2024
$75 until October 28, 2024
Online registration closes on October 28, 2024. After this date, only on-site registration is available for $75.
There is a $250 fee for non-members. Conference registration fees are non-refundable.
While there are no scholarships available for this conference, local Associations are encouraged to assist members with participating. Several local Association leaders are encouraging members to carpool and share hotel rooms to defray the cost of participating in the conference. They highly encourage colleagues around the state to do the same.

Course Title: PLUACLD1167 An Overview of the Five Dimensions of the Alabama Teacher Observation Tool
Intended Audience: School and District Leaders (Observers) Conducting Observations using the Alabama Teacher Observation Tool (ATOT)
This ACLD-approved Standard 2 Teaching and Learning professional learning unit (PLU) study focuses on the Association's Teacher Leadership Competencies. It is for all members who hold Professional Leadership Certification.
There are no prerequisites for participation. The participant will earn 1 PLU upon completion of the course.

The Education Policy and Professional Practice (EPPP) Department hosts statewide and regional professional learning events to promote programs for the improvement of teaching and learning and fostering professional growth to hone leadership skills. Recognizing that all AEA members possess a great deal of experience and expertise to be shared with colleagues around instructional, educational support, and leadership issues, the EPPP Department is utilizing a Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, literacy and numeracy.
