Certificate Renewal Information
For educators whose certificate(s) expire June 30, 2027, or thereafter, requirements will be available August 1, 2026.

VALID Certificate Renewal
 
For educators whose certificate is VALID and needs to be renewed, the online application will be available until June 30, 2026.

EXPIRED Certificate Renewal
Educators who hold an EXPIRED certificate must go through a certification reinstatement process. 
 
To APPLY
To apply through this approach, you will need to have an ALSDE Identity Management (AIM) account. To log in or create an AIM Account go to ALSDE Identity Management (AIM) « ALSDE (Alabama State Department of Education).New Window.

  • Log in to your AIM Account
  • Once you have logged in to AIM, you will be at the Services Portal *Do not click on a tile.*
  • Locate and complete Extended DemographicsNew Window
  • See guidelines for ACE below
 
ACE
  • The tile labeled “ACE” is the Certification Dashboard (NEW online application system), which allows you to view background status, view and download certificates, and apply for certification through the online application process.
  • Click New Application  (BEGINNING JANUARY 31, 2025)
  • Follow the prompts to complete the application process, including uploading documents and paying the fee through this application.
