A Message From the President

As AEA President, I greet you with deep gratitude, abiding faith in our work, and an unshakable belief in the power of public education. Across Alabama, in every classroom, hallway, bus route, and office, you are the steady hands and committed hearts shaping our future. This year, we stand Rooted in Purpose. Our roots stretch deep into the rich soil of advocacy, sacrifice, and collective strength. They have been nurtured by generations of educators who organized when it was difficult, advocated when it was uncomfortable, and educated when the odds were stacked against them. Because of those roots, we are still standing. Because of those roots, we are still growing. When we are rooted, we are resilient. When we are grounded, we are unshaken. When we are unified, we are unstoppable. In every season, trees endure storms, shifting winds, and changing environments. Yet they remain anchored by what lies beneath the surface. So too are we. Rooted in purpose. Growing in advocacy. Bearing results for Alabama’s children. Thank you for the work you do. Thank you for the difference you make. Thank you for continuing to stand firmly planted in the promise of public education.
