Black Male Educators Learning Lab 

 

The goals of the Black Male Educator Learning Lab are to recruit and retain Black males as members of the Alabama Education Association (AEA) and the education profession. This engaging and fun learning experience will provide Black males with the support they need to be successful. Black male educators will engage in virtual sessions throughout this school year with Learning Lab leaders Dr. Willie Shelby and David McKinney.

Flipgrid Fridays 

 

A professional learning network using Flipgrid to share ideas and new strategies with colleagues.  Flipgrid is a free video discussion platform designed to foster fun and supportive social learning while allowing educators to see and hear from all students. Flipgrid Fridays will encourage educators to respond to current trends, materials, and events in education with short videos.

Special Education Cohort 

 

The EPPP Department has created a Special Education Cohort to help special educators best serve students during in-person, virtual, and/or hybrid learning. Because of the multiple perspectives offered by educators, this cohort will provide a richness to the learning process, as well as provide materials and resources for working with students with a variety of exceptionalities.

AEA: CULTURAL COMPETENCY AND DIVERSITY IN EDUCATION

 

The purpose of the Alabama Education Association (AEA) Cultural Competency and Diversity in Education professional learning courses is to enhance educators' understanding of strategies, collaborative activities, and new ideas for supporting environments of cultural competency and diversity in Alabama public schools. The information in this course is beneficial to all educators.
